Here I Go Again On My Own

3-19-25

Hark! The book I started last September and finished last month is off to my editor. Their thoughts I’ll have back sometime near the end of April, so I’ve some time on my hands in the meantime. What have I and what will I be doing with said time? If the answer isn’t obvious than I don’t know why you’re reading this, and you must remind me never to trust you with any important decisions in my life.

That being said! (Obviously I’m jesting.)

I’m immersed in another new novel. It’s been just about a month I’ve been working on it, but already I can feel it becoming not only one of my most concise pieces, but also my most fun to pen. It’s different than my other books, in another new setting, with more new characters, and a storyline with warped pieces somewhat gleaned from my own life. As with my last completed work, I may not be sharing many details about this novel either for quite some time.

However! I do have some more completed maps I may just leave here soon for you to peruse, though they may be lacking in thorough detail for the near future.

2025 has kicked off with fabulous effect, and my excitement only compounds and radiates as the days, weeks, and months tick by. As always, I thank you for taking the time to read these updates, as I continue to grow as a writer, an imaginer, a worldbuilder, and a blogger.

(You may be asking yourself, “how about growing as a person?”, and to that I would say, “you make a valid point good imaginary commenter, and I would have you know that they can come as one in the same, the growth of both soul and body. If you know that by nurturing one you may nurture the other, then you’re just working smarter instead of harder.”)

P.S. That’s the first and last horrible rhyme you’re hear from me, I apologize to the highest degree. At times, the writings of these blogs seems to form my mind in strange ways, like clay wet too many times, and bent into too many shapes.

Sincerely and with enough bad humor to ride the threshold of becoming annoying,

JMB
